NLBWA-SD Announces New Board Chair and Committee

SAN DIEGO, CA- The National Latina Business Women Association (NLBWA-SD) serves as a local chapter of its national parent organization. It is dedicated to support and empower Latina business women in the San Diego region through resources and programming to educate, coach and support them with long term business success. 

The NLBWA-SD voted Fanny Miller as its new board President at its January membership meeting. Ms. Miller is the CEO and President of Latina & Associates, Inc., Publisher of El Latino San Diego Newspaper , Celebrando Latinas Magazine and creator of Celebrando Latinas Conference. Ms. Miller currently serves as president for NAHP-National Association of Hispanic Publications. “I am excited to bring Fanny to lead our organization as she was one of its original founders in 2004. Fanny brings knowledge, experience and resources. I am very confident that under Fanny Miller’s leadership, the NLBWA board will continue to make a positive difference in the organization’s mission and impact.” said Josie Flores-Clark. 

National Latina Business Women Association of San Diego is the local chapter representing the San Diego region. “I am deeply honored to be elected as the new board president and look forward to working with my board colleagues to move NLBWA’s mission forward. I want to thank the NLBWA board of directors for their confidence in me to lead this organization, and I especially thank Josie Flores-Clark for trusting me with her appointment. Together with the entire board of directors we are committed to the work of NLBWA and its predecessors to be a strong voice for the inclusion of Latina Women in the business community. Our goal is to move our mission-driven agenda forward, including the expansion of our corporate membership, industry-specific programs and advocacy for Latina women inclusion” said Fanny Miller. 

On Thursday, September 17 the new board installation will take place virtually with Hon. Supervisor Greg Cox performing the ceremony. Supervisor Cox has been a strong advocate for local businesses throughout his many years of service, providing grants and incentives such as computers to small businesses. In his last year of service as County Supervisor, due to term limits, the NLBWASD is honored to feature him as guest speaker and to perform the ceremonial board installation. Josie Flores-Clark served as the Executive Assistant to Mayor Ron Morrison. In this position, she was the responsible liaison for issues and events on a local, regional, state, national and international level. She was also the go to and liaison for both Olongapo, Philippines and Baja California. Prior to joining the City of National City Mayor’s office, Josie was General Manager and Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of a major local company. She has been referred to by the Office of the Governor as “the perfect Ambassador for National City” 

Analizeth Izaval, Treasurer

Analizeth Izaval is the CFO of A & L Professional Services, Inc. For the last nineteen years her emphasis has been commercial policies for trucking businesses. Analizeth graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 1997 with a BA in International Business with an emphasis in Latin America and Spanish. As a resident and Notary Public of the region Tijuana/ San Diego, she knows the dynamics and politics of the border between Mexico and the U.S. and how trade is conducted in both countries. As a Certified Tax Preparer by the State of California; she is able to help individuals and small businesses with tax preparation.

Christina Rounds, Membership Chair

Christina is a real estate professional that has been growing in the industry since 2007. Her main focus in Real Estate is property management. She has managed over 100 properties in the San Diego area. Some have included single-family homes as well as multi-family. Currently, she serves on the National Latina Business Women’s Association(NLBWASD) as Membership Chair, on the board for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) and is dedicated to giving back to her San Diego community by co-hosting shoe drives, dress drives and more.

Originally from Mexico City, raised in Chula Vista, Jennifer Bustamante has been actively involved in the San Diego community for over 20 years. Her focus is to highlight the multicultural identity of our region through projects that benefit San Diego as a global asset. She has worked in both the private and public sectors, in political fundraising, economic development,journalism, marketing and community engagement.
